Nottingham's Former Royal Mail Sorting Office Acquired
In June 2020 Godwin Developments announced the acquisition of one of Nottingham's most prominent buildings - the former Royal Mail sorting office. Fronting Brook Street and Bath Street, the site is located in the Creative Quarter of the city. It is just six minutes' walk from Nottingham City Centre, in close proximity to both universities and Nottingham train station.
The development will be named The Bendigo Buildings in memory of the former Nottingham bare-knuckle fighter William 'Bendigo' Thompson, whose memorial is situated nearby.

Plans submitted for a 692-unit purpose built student accommodation scheme in central Nottingham
Godwin Developments has recently submitted proposals for the development of a contemporary 692 unit student living scheme (PBSA) on the site of the former Royal Mail shorting office. Situated next to St. Mary's Rest Gardens and Victoria Park in the Creative Quarter, the development - named The Bendigo Buildings - includes a mix of studios, four, five and six bedroom clusters and disabled accommodation, as well as comprehensive indoor and outdoor amenities. It also incorporates 6 car parking and 312 cycle storage spaces as well as two commercial units situated on the ground floor.

Resolution to grant approval for The Bendigo Buildings
On Wednesday, 18th August 2021, Godwin Developments secured a resolution to grant planning approval for The Bendigo Buildings subject to clarification of further design details. The scheme has already been amended to meet the previous recommendations by planning officers of Nottingham City Council. Godwin Developments is looking forward to working with the planning team to finalise the scheme in the very near future.

UK property developer Godwin Developments has completed the sale of its purpose built student accommodation scheme (PBSA) the Bendigo Buildings to Bricks Group. The projects which is located in central Nottingham and in close proximity to Nottingham Trent University, comprises 783 student beds including studios, four, five and six bedroom clusters and disabled studio rooms. The development responds positively to the growing need for student accommodation in Nottingham.
