Godwin Developments have submitted a planning application to East Northamptonshire Council for the 1.7-acre roundabout site which was acquired in October 2018. The business has moved swiftly to draw up plans for this high-traffic location.

Outline Planning Approval Granted
Outline plans to create a new petrol filling station with complimentary drive-thru retail unit in Rushden, Northamptonshire, were approved at a planning committee on 3rd July 2019.
The development has been designed to complement the existing local infrastructure whilst creating much-needed facilities for residents and visitors to the nearby Rushden Lakes Shopping Centre.
Godwin are now working with our end-user and the Council on the submission of the Reserved Matters.

Euro Garages Appointed As Tenant
Since the initial Outline planning approval, Godwin has been working up final proposals with Euro Garages Limited and East Northamptonshire Council for the development. Godwin and Euro Garages Limited have amended their design to be sympathetic with the planners and councillors’ aspirations. The updated Reserved Matters application was submitted to the council in mid-December 2019. The proposals firm up the design for the new petrol filling station and coffee operator drive-thru.

In May 2020 Godwin Developments confirmed that after 14 months of working on the development, the business completed the triple sale of the land, leases and investment of the Rushden Roadside Retail site to London Metric, the FTSE 250 listed real estate investment trust (REIT).
